Tiny MCE Editor and No WYSIWYG Editor options in Joomla!

Tiny MCE EditorThe Tiny MCE Editor is used to format the content text. The interface is relatively common to anyone familiar with popular office productivity software.

The icons, in order, allow you to:

Bold: This icon allows you to make the selected text bold.

Italic: This icon allows you to change the selected text to italics.

Underline - This icon allows you to underline the selected text.

Strikethrough -  This icon allows you to strikethrough the selected text. Strikethrough puts a horizontal line through the selected text.

Left Align - This icon allows you to align the current paragraph text to the left (default)

Centre Align - This icon allows you to center the selected paragraph.

Right Align - This icon aligns the selected paragraph to the right.

Justify -  This icon spaces the selected paragraph so the lines appear "square", or uniform.

Outdent - This icon moves the selected text one tab to the left with each click.

Indent - This icon moves the selected text one tab to the right with each click.

Order List - This icon creates a numbered list.

Unordered List -  This icon creates a bulleted list.

Undo -  This icon undoes last change.

Redo - This icon redoes the last undo.

Insert Link - This icon provides a handy window for you to turn the selected text to link to another web page or web site.

Unlink - This icon remove the link.

Add Image - This icon takes your URL and inserts the image into your content at this location.

Clean up messy code - This icon cleans up code and removes unwanted formatting. This function is useful when you copy contents from another word processer software, for example.

Help - This icon displays a help window with information about the buttons that can be clicked to get the desired results.

Text Colour - This icon gives you the opportunity to change the colour of the selected text.

 

No WYSIWYG Editor

Selecting the No WYSIWYG option when setting the editor of choice within the Personal Details section in the Front-end will provide the User with a plain, simple text editor with no formatting facility what so ever.
