Content by Section

Description:

Essentially this is a navigation aid only. The Content by Section entries for a particular Section are created in this Menu, automatically by Joomla!, as soon as a new Section is created in the Section Manager.

It allows a particular Section and the functions associated with it to be more quickly accessed than having to navigate through a number of different screens and/or filters to achieve the same access.

[ section_name] Items sub-menu:

Provides a shortcut to the Content Items Manager [ Section: section_name ]. This Manager lists all the Content Items of a particular Section and provides access to all the Toolbar & Menu functions that can be processed against them for example, archiving, editing, or copying.

[ section_name ] Archive sub-menu:

Provides a shortcut to the Archive Manager [ Section: section_name]. This Manager lists and controls all the Content Items of a particular Section that have been Archived. They are still within the system, but are no longer published or accessible to the Front-end Users of the web site. If an archived Content Item is to be edited, for example, it must be unarchived and returned to the Content Item Manager. It will remain unpublished at this stage, although this can be changed.

[ section_name ] Categories sub-menu:

Provides a shortcut to the Category Manager [ Content: category_name ]. This Manager lists all the Categories of the named Section and they can be controlled using the various Toolbar & Menu functions for example, publishing, unpublishing, editing, or copying.
