The Joomla! Documentation Working Group is running a project to develop detailed reference and tutorial material on Joomla! 1.5 templates.  There is a project page on the documentation wiki where you can see the work in progress and help us by contributing your knowledge.

Joomla! 1.5 Installation Manual **Updated**

The Joomla! User Documentation Team are pleased to announce the release of the Joomla! 1.5 Installation Manual today.

The Manual covers:

  • System Requirements
  • Localhost and Remote Host Installations
  • Obtaining Joomla
  • Preparations ahead of installation
  • File Transfer
  • Secure Password Thinking
  • Web Browser Installation
  • Manual Installation
  • Known Issues and Error Solving (this has yet to be populated)
  • General information for anyone new to the Joomla! Community
  • Further reference relating to Joomla! 1.5 (this also has yet to be populated)

The manual is available as an online resource here at the Help Site or for download in PDF file format for bedtime reading from the Joomla! Project Document Repository on Joomla! Code!. This has now been updated to Joomla! 1.5 Installation Manual v.0.5 on 31 October 2007. Just "right-click " with your mouse and select Save As from the menu.

Please note this Web site will hold the most current version of the manual, although we will do periodic updates of the PDF version as well.
