Description:

The Menu Manager - Menu Details - New option is accessed by clicking the New icon in the Menu Manager.

This function creates the 'shell' of a Menu which, along with the automatically created copy of the Module - mod_mainmenu, forms the container into which Menu Items are added to create the finished Menu. The Menu Items are the shortcuts (links) to other Content, Sections, Components, for example, within the web site. There are only two editable fields in this screen.

The actual settings of the Menu Details screen are similar for both the New and Edit functions except a new Module is not created when editing, and the Module Title field is no longer present on the screen.

The Menu Manger - Menu Details - Edit option is accessed by clicking the Edit icon in the Menu Manager. There is only one editable field in this screen.

Toolbar:

 save_cancel_help_tbclose_icon_tb

Save:  Click Save to save any changes made during the current editing session and return to the Menu Manager screen.

Cancel: Clicking Cancel at any point ends the current editing session and returns the display to the Menu Manager screen. Any changes made since the session commenced will be lost.

Help: Click the Help icon at any time to view this Help Screen.

Close: Clicking Close at any point ends the current editing session and returns the display to the Menu Manager screen. Any changes made since the session commenced will be lost.

Menu Details:

Menu Name: Enter the title of the Menu as it will be displayed in the Menu Manager. This name is used by Joomla! in code references to this Menu. It is preferable not to use spaces in this name: either compress the name for example: mainmenu2 or use underscores main_menu_2. The name entered here must be unique.

Module Title: Enter the name of the Menu as it will be displayed in the Front-end of the web site when/if it is published. This is also the name of the new copy of the mod_mainmenu that is created, and under which it is listed in the Module Manager. This field is only available for new Menus and does not appear on the screen for the Menu Details - Edit function of the Menu Manager. To modify this name after the initial creation access the mod_newmenuname  in the Module Manager [ Site ].
