Description:Create a new Banner entry or update an existing Banner. Whilst there are two separate toolbar icons that this page covers the actual screen presentation is the same. Toolbar:
Upload: To upload a file from a local computer click the Upload icon. A small pop up dialogue window will appear. To trace the file to be Uploaded click on the Browse button. This will open the File Upload dialogue window. Navigate to the location of the desired file on the local hard drive. Select the file and click the Open button. The dialogue window will disappear and the path to, and name of, the file will appear in the File Upload field. Click the Upload button to complete the transfer of a copy of the file from the local computer to the joomla_root/images/banners directory tree in the case of images.
To allow larger files to be uploaded it will probably be necessary to increase the upload_max_filesize and the post_max_size settings. For very large files it may also be necessary to increase the max_execution_time and the memory_limit settings. Alternatively it may be necessary to use an external program (FTP) to upload the files. Save: Click the Save icon to save any changes made during the current editing session, and return to the Banner Manager screen. Cancel: Clicking Cancel at any point ends the current Banner creation session and returns the display to the Banner Manager screen. Any changes made since the session commenced will be lost and the new Banner will not have been created. Close: Click the Close icon at any point to end the current editing session and return to the Banner Manager screen. Any changes made since the session commenced will be lost. Help: Click the Help icon at any time to view this Help Screen. Details:Banner Name: Enter a name for the Banner being created. This is the name that will be displayed in the Banner Manager and by which the Banner will be identified. Client Name: Select the name of the Client, from the dropdown list of Clients, to whom the Banner belongs/is to be assigned. Impressions Purchased: Enter the number of times that the Banner is to be displayed. Alternatively, if the Banner is to be unrestricted, tick the Unlimited check box that will allow unlimited display rights. Banner URL: Select the Banner image to be displayed from the list of uploaded Banners. Images must be stored in the joomla_root/images/banners directory to be available for selection here. The selected image will be shown at the bottom of this screen. Show Banner: Select Yes or No to set whether this Banner will be available for the Banner Module to show, in the designated position, in the Front-end of the web site. Click URL: Enter the full URL to the page of the web site, internal page, or event that will open when the Banner is clicked upon. Custom banner code: Custom code can be entered here. This facility is of use when displaying affiliate Banners on the web site.
